Designs of plant construction
This report refers to typical designs of plant construction that do not allow professional installation of the insulation when heat, cold and sound insulation is required. In these installation situations, later damage to the insulation and the system is possible
Focus on GREECE
HAIC (Hellenic Association of Insulation Companies) is the official collective body of our country for the insulation profession, which, in close cooperation with the respective governments, resolves the problems of the sector.

Reflecting meetings in Den Bosch
After a long period of Covid restrictions, the FESI members were finally able to meet physically in the city of Den Bosch in the Netherlands. From October 12th - 14th, the Industrial Heat & Power fair gave the floor to the insulation sector. It also served as the host location for the FESI meetings.
TI-expo and Conference 2022 in Essen
The Rudolf Müller Media Group, publisher of the trade magazine TI Technische Isolierung in Germany, is organizing a new trade fair in Essen from 9th -10th March.
National Association in focus
Waterford and Wexford Education and Training Board (WWETB) provides a comprehensive range of Education and Training ser-vices throughout Waterford and Wexford and is the largest training provider in the South East of Ireland.
Smart asset management video lectures
World Class Maintenance (WCM) is a Dutch network platform for smart maintenance. They recently set up a program for asset management. Video lectures in English are available for free on YouTube.

Insulation Training centres
FESI introduced the opportunity for training centers to present themselves on the FESI website. This was a first step to promote our sector and show that there are suitable facilities for training insulation workers.
Good times are coming for Insulation
The successful European lobby by EiiF is highly beneficial to our sector and greater cooperation between EiiF and FESI could lead to more engagement from the contractors. In the eyes of the FESI president, Dr. Rudolf Jürcke, cooperation between EiiF, con-tractors and their national associations should be the basis for a change of opinion amongst the disbelievers of climate change, enlarging opportunities for the insulation sector. Insulation is the most cost-effective way to reduce CO2-emission.
National Association in focus
ISOLSUISSE, the association of Swiss insulation companies for heat, cold, sound and fire protection, founded in 1946, represents the interests of the professional branch of technical insulation and structural fire protection.
ISSO-64 is a challenge
We asked a representative of the federation of energy consultants why consultants don’t often refer to any insulation standard and, taking it further, why they so easily fall back on specifications from producers instead of finding their own way.

IR Compact Cameras
Compact thermographic cameras promise easy-to-use thermal imaging technology at a low price. This market overview was published in the German magazine, Technische Isolierung (link), and shows what current entry-level devices can and cannot do.
Focus on FRANCE
Syndicat National de l’Isolation (SNI) is the French trade association for insulation companies. It was founded in 1936, with the aim to create cooperation in safeguarding the interest and mutual relationship between insulation contractors.
Energy consultants turn on
Guidelines and specifications for materials and installation of thermal insulation in non-residential construction are applied in several countries. But it is unclear whether energy consultants and installers can really fall back on these guidelines.
Historic Court Ruling Supports
The Dutch district court in the Hague has ordered Royal Dutch Shell to cut its emissions 45% by 2030 compared to 2019 lev-els. It is the first ruling ordering a multinational organization to reduce CO2-emissions in line with the Paris agreement.

  • The organization is optimistic for 2021 and is looking forward to encountering different perspectives for bettering the industry. From 12-14 October, an interesting large-scale event will take place, involving presentations and demonstrations of energy-saving technology and sustainable energy.
